Story Behind Photo: I took my good friend Judy to India with me as she had always wanted to visit. I decided before the trip we needed to visit Harimandir Sahib, also known as the Golden Temple, in Amritsar, Punjab, India and represent Canuck Nation. We were a big hit with the locals and a lot of people wanted pictures with us in our jerseys. This is the holiest temple for Sikhs around the world and I figured while I’m here, let me pray for the CUP PLEASE. WE ARE ALL CANUCKS!

Story Behind Photo: We bought Matteo a Vancouver Canucks jersey when he was born but we had to wait until it fit him. When it finally fit him we had to get some photo’s taken with him wearing it. Story Behind Photo: I deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan from November 2011 through November of 2012. I’m a civilian police officer, my job was to teach and mentor the Afghan National Police. This picture was taken in front of the Canadian Military Headquarters in Kabul. We had a signpost up with the distances to major Canadian cities and our hometowns. Notice the hockey stick on the top; hockey is never far from the minds of Canadians deployed overseas!

Story Behind Photo: The photo was taken in June at the EURO 2012 soccer tournament in Wroclaw, Poland. Me (Danny Appleby) and my friend (Chris Kobryn) were going to the Czech Republic vs Poland match; he is Polish and I am Czech, and this match determined who moved on to the elimination rounds. But despite these implications, we decided to wear our Canucks gear and show it off with pride in front of the thousands of raucous Czech and Polish fans. Even across the world and at a different sport, many people still recognized our jerseys and called us out with “Go Canucks!”

Story Behind Photo: In March 2013, I had the privilege of co-leading a program to El Salvador. The leader of the foundation, John Guiliano, was a former hockey player who he led the Salvadoran in-line hockey team to the Central American championships, and he teaches children how to play inline hockey.

I saw the Boston Bruins paraphernalia hanging from the rafters of the Tamarindo community centre. I knew I had to stop John’s Bruin indoctrination.

Our last night in Guarjila, we played a spirited game of 2 on 2. After instructing my Californian students on the basics of game play, we suited up. I represented Canuck nation and donned the jersey. The Salvadoran Bruins needed to know that there was a better hockey team around! It was clear, however, that the result of the game did not matter. Let’s just say that John trained the Salvadorans very well!

Story Behind Photo: This photo was taken at Machu Picchu, the so-called lost city of the Incas, in Peru. I had just climbed Huayna Picchu, the mountain which stands 1180 ft above Machu Picchu (in the foggy background) and asked my husband to take a photo of me in my Canucks T with Machu Picchu’s ruins in the background. Story Behind Photo: It was an overcast day during a round of golf while on vacation in Maui, Hawaii on my birthday. As it was Hawaii, I never thought to bring a long sleeve jacket to golf so I decided to wear the my Kesler jersey that I had wore on the plane ride over. I was proud to show off my Canuck pride as I often heard other golfers scream “Aloha Vancouver!” during the round. You can see on the horizon that with some Canuck Pride on my back, it helped me to hit my golf ball straight!

Story Behind Photo: I walk my dog through the Vancouver Sea Walk around Rogers Arena and Science World everyday. We are both Canucks fans and wear our jersey’s during the games.

How Did I Become a Canucks Fan? My father took me to my first game in 1993 and I have been a fan ever since. I was sitting right behind Corey Crawford when Alex Burrows scored in Game 7 to knock the ‘Hawks out. It’s a memory I won’t forget!
